What Did We Replace?

We Installed A Ductless Hyper Heat SystemIn lots of cases, we get a call when a heating or cooling system stops working. That was the situation for the Homewood homeowner. They had an old heat pump that wasn’t working well, and they wanted to see what the best solution would be to replace it.

They also had a furnace that they would use in the coldest months. They wanted to keep the furnace, but also install something that could help with heating and cooling alike. From the sounds of it, they wanted a new heat pump that could do a better job than the old one. That was no problem at all, and what we were going to suggest anyway.

Installing A Mitsubishi Hyper Heat System

We inspected the house and decided that a new Mitsubishi Hyper Heat Ductless Mini Split would be a perfect solution. This would be able to provide the heating they were looking for, without having to get rid of their furnace. Now they could still use the furnace if they wanted to, but the heat pump should be able to take care of the home most of the time.

Why Install A Mitsubishi Hyper Heat System?

There are a few benefits that come along with the Mitsubishi Hyper Heat system they decided to install.

Improved Heating

One of the key reasons they wanted this system was the improved heating capabilities. Their old HVAC system wasn’t doing the trick anymore and the home wasn’t staying warm. This new Hyper Heat system is designed to heat in temperatures as low as -13 degrees Fahrenheit. With winters like the ones we see here in Illinois, it’s important that our HVAC systems can work in these frigid climates.

With the Hyper Heat system, they are going to see improvements in their heating right away!

Can Heat And Cool

Another advantage was that this system has the ability to provide both heating and cooling. Instead of just using their furnace and a separate system to cool, a Hyper Heat system from Mitsubishi is able to cool in the summer, and heat in the winter, making it a year round HVAC solution!

Energy Efficiency

These Hyper Heat systems work as heat pumps. They don’t generate heat like traditional HVAC systems that need to burn fuel. Instead, they use a heat transfer process that sources heat from outside, and builds on it, then sends it into your home. It’s estimated that this process is about 160% more efficient than gas burning furnaces.

Easy Installation/No Ductwork Required

These mini split systems don’t require any ductwork, and function using a small bit of tubing that runs from a condenser outside to the mini split inside. The whole installation process took us a single day. We removed the old heat pump, and installed the new condenser and a wall hanging unit inside.

Luckily for the homeowners, this system also qualified for a $1000 rebate, and a $2000 tax credit! This made the installation a lot more cost effective, knocking some money off of the initial cost, and also giving them some relief come tax season.
